Sports are organized competitive physical activities. These fill the need for recreation, physical activity, and competition among people. Almost all sports are potential competitors. This is just the fundamental difference between games and, more importantly, sports as a venue for the sport. There is no doubt that a game of golf can be a competition, but that does not mean that it should be considered competition for football or ice skating. A golf course is just a golf course, and many other sporting events can be considered competition.
